Corners in Feng Shui

Millions of people from many cultures practice the art of Feng Shui. This art combines the spirituality of Eastern mysticism with aesthetics of modern design in an attempt to create a home that contains positive energies while blocking negative forces. Of the many components in Feng Shui, as well as the most important, are the three types of corners.

Poison arrows are the first thing you should notice and the first thing to avoid. When two walls meet at a blank joint, this is known as a poisoned arrow, as it causes negative energy and anxiety. Placing a potted or hanging plant or even wind chimes can solve this problem. Irregular floor corners are also negative, because the ideal shape for a Feng Shui design is a circle.

Irregular shapes cause havoc with corners, off-setting any positive home energy. The perfect corner, set in an octagon shape in a room, is the Ba Gua, which represents eight distinctive aspects of a positive home.
